What this site is, and what it is not.

Version 2026-09-26. Plain language on purpose; where a sentence here is vague, the narrower reading is the one we mean.

What this is

A set of openly licensed inventories, of personality and of moral values, scored against published reference samples. It is a research and education tool, operated by Blue Almond Studio. Using it means agreeing to what is on this page.

Nothing here is a clinical assessment, a diagnosis, or advice. No result should be used to decide who gets hired, admitted, promoted, treated or insured. These inventories are not validated for selection, they are not supervised by a clinician, and a score produced here carries none of the safeguards that setting would require. If you are making a decision about somebody's job, health or liberty, this is the wrong instrument and there is no version of it that is the right one.

What it costs

Nothing. There is no payment, no subscription and no paid tier, which is why there is nothing here about prices, refunds or withdrawal rights. The service is provided as it is, with no promise that it will keep running or stay free.

Age

You need to be at least 16 to create an account. Creating one is your confirmation that you are.

Accuracy, and what you do with a score

The scores are what the answers given produce against the reference data named on each result. We make no promise that they describe you well, and the site says throughout where they are weak — what these inventories can and cannot tell you.

What you do with a result is yours to decide and yours to answer for. The reference samples are self-selected internet volunteers rather than representative populations, the same person retaking an inventory commonly lands in a different band, and a percentile is a comparison with a sample, not a fact about you.

Your account

An account is optional and exists to keep your results. Do not share the login. You can take a copy of everything held and delete the account at any time, immediately, from your account — see the privacy notice for what that removes.

We may suspend or close an account used to attack the service or its users, without prior notice where notice would allow the conduct to continue.

The API

A programmatic interface to the same inventories and scoring is available, and requires a key issued by us.

Access is subject to the same terms as the rest of the service. You may not use it in a way that degrades the service for other users, and you may not circumvent any limit applied to it.

The inventories themselves

None of the items are ours to restrict. The personality inventories' items are in the public domain, and you are free to use them. The MFQ-2's items belong to their authors (Atari, Haidt, Graham and colleagues) and are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence, so you may use them too, provided you credit the authors. The reference data and the narrative text have their own provenance and their own licences, recorded in the repository. This site's own wording, and the code behind it, are ours.

Language

These terms are written in English, and the English version is the one that applies. Where the site offers them in another language, the translation is there for convenience; if it differs from the English, the English governs.

Changes

These terms carry a version, and the version you accepted is recorded against your account, so a later change is answerable rather than silent. Where a change is material, you will be asked to accept the new version when you next sign in, and may continue once you have.

Accepting is not compulsory. You may download your results and close the account instead, from your account; closing it takes effect immediately.

Material changes to who processes your data are announced separately, on the sub-processors page.
